How to Add Connection Points in Visio?

In this article, we will learn how we can add Connection Points in Microsoft Visio. Actually, we know that by default there are few connections points available in our shapes in Visio but few shapes are not proper connection points while connecting the shapes with the line tools. This is why we have to face the problem to connect them in a proper way. 

In this picture we can see that are are sufficient connection points and they are surrounded by red circles just to show you that they are all connection points. And now, I am going to show you another example in which we will see that with that shape we can't connect with another shape properly.

We can see that we can't connect the circle with the octagon properly that is why it's necessary for us to add more connection points with it.

For Adding More Connection Point we have to go to the Home tab then Tools. We can see different tools.

• Connector
• Text
• Rectangle
• Connection Points
• Text Block Tool

We just go with Connection points like a cross sign with blue color. That is more interesting to work with connection points.

First of all, we have to select the shape then select the connection point tool.

Now, we can see that Octagon is selected. Then we will press the Control key then click with the help of the mouse. Where we want to insert the connection points where we want to insert. It depends upon where we want to add Connection Point.

We can see Before and After. Before there was 8 Connection Point now there is 16 Connection and we can connect from any side that is suitable for us.

In this way, we can add a connection point to shapes in Visio. Also, these connection points show the relationship between the shapes in a document.
