How stencils work in Visio?

Microsoft Visio is based on stencils. Stencils are palettes of shapes that can be used to create almost any diagram you need. Each palette is task-specific making it easier to locate the shape you require. You can open and work with multiple stencils and create your own.

If you want to design a flowchart then you have to shapes or stencils related to the flowchart like rectangles, circles, ellipses, squares, and many more shapes that lie in the stencils of the flowchart.

If you have to design an Organizational chart then you have to select the organization Chart Shapes are known as the stencils of the organizational chart in Microsoft Visio.

If you are going to design an organizational chart for your client then you have to first select the organization chart from the template then you will see that all stencils will be available in the shape pane related to the organizational chart. 

As we can see that on the left-hand side we can see the Shape pane. All stencils in the shape pane are related to the org chart.

Also, we especially can see the org chart tab. If we will expand it then we will see many amazing facts in the org chart tab.
