How to Rotate Text box, and Shapes in Visio?

In this article, we will rotate our text and shapes in Visio. Sometimes we want to write in any other direction instead of horizontal direction in Visio. Also, we have to rotate the shape to show something different as compared to a normal situation. That is why we rotate text boxes as well as shapes in any direction.

Let's Get Started:

There are two ways, to rotate text boxes and shapes in Visio.

1. Direct Rotation
2. Arrange Group

Direct Rotation

In this method, first of all, we have to insert text boxes and shapes to rotate them in Visio. We have inserted a text box from the Tools group and some basic shapes from the Shapes pane. Now, we will learn how we can rotate them with the help of direct rotation in Visio.

First of all, we have to select the text box then we will see that our text box is selected and we can also notice that there is a rotation on the top of the text box

Then we will move our cursor on it then we will see "Rotation Shape" actually our recent text box showing the behavior of shape then we will more our cursor on it then we can click and drag it in right-hand direction as well as for left-hand direction for the rotation of the text box.

We can see a 45-degree angle in the following picture. If we will press the shift key then drag then our angle increase at the multip of 15 degrees. If we will not press the shift key then it will change without any proper angle.

In the same way, we can rotate the shape in Visio.

In this way, we can select the shape then we can rotate the shape in Visio. That's why we name it Direct Rotation. In other words, we can directly rotate it with the help of our requirements.

Arrange Group

In this method, we can rotate our text box as well as shapes with the help of Arrange Group in Visio. As we know the importance of rotation in Visio.

In the file menu, then Arrange Group > Position. 

We can see in Position then Rotate shapes. There is four option for rotation purpose in Visio.

1. Rotate Right 90-degree
2. Rotate Left 90-degree
3. Flip Vertical
4. Flip Horizontal

We can rotate our text box and shapes in any direction. In this way, we can rotate our shapes, and text box in Visio.
