how to edit an org chart in lucidchart?

If you want to edit your org chart in Lucidchart, log in to your Lucidchart account. If you're going to edit your Organizational Chart, remember that you have to access your premium account.

I am going to log in to my paid account.

After logging into the lucid chart account, go to the template. There are two types.

• Lucidchart
• Lucidspark

As we are talking about lucidchart, go to the lucidchart chart templates, as we can see.

There are categories of Lucidchart; in these categories, the famous one is Org Charts. Select the org charts, and then we will; in the second step, all org charts will appear.

and many more.

Some of them are without images, and most are with images. The org chart with images is cleaner and more professional.

I am going with the first one, the "Accounting org chart example."

The first step is to select the "Accounting org chart example," and then it will appear above, as we can see.

On the bottom right, we can see "Use template." Then, select it, and we will see only this template in our new window.

After a few seconds, you will see the loading template pages. 

After loading this page, the whole template is open in the lucidchart new window. As you can see now.

On the right size, there is a guide. With the help of the guide, we can see a guide where we can edit our org chart in Lucidchart.

Then the main template is then opened on the dashboard, as shown in the screenshot above. For now, I will delete the guide on the right-hand side, and we will see only the template on the lucidchart document.

If you have a big screen, it's easy to work with it, but if you don't, don't worry. We can zoom in and out simply using the zoom button on the bottom right of the lucidchart. Zoom options are zoom in (+) and zoom out (-).

Select the org chart, and then you will see all the org chart is designed in a group format. As we can see after selecting the org chart.

With the help of a single click, you can not edit your org chart. If you want to edit your org chart, then you have to double-click on your org chart. Then you will able to edit it.

As we select one member on the org chart, we will see the two options on the right-hand side in Layout.

• Shape Style
• Employee Fields

If we expand the first option, we will see the different options related to the style of the shape.

After expanding the shape style, we can see there are different layouts related to the shapes. All Layout I am going to show you the following screenshot.

These are all layouts we can display our members in our org chart. Double-click on the member to which you want to change the Layout, then select the Layout you like for your organization. As we have seen, the org chart has four different layouts.

If we move forward, there are two different layouts: a horizontal layout and the second one a vertical layout, as you can see.

If you want to change the text, double-click on the person on the org chart to which you want to change the text. Then, that will be selected. After that, you have to type text on it, and then you will see that your text will be written.

If you want to change the color of the box of each member, select the box of the member to which you want to change, then on the top, there is a "Fill color."

After clicking on it, a window will appear, and there are many colors.

If you want to add any hex color, there is a plus box; at the end, you must click on it. 

As you can see, a hex color code is appearing. Then simply paste your hex code here, and your brand color will be placed in the desired box.

Then click on Done! Then, the result will be in front of you. 

Similarly, we can change the line color. After the fill color, you will see the options.

Also, if you want to change the size of the box, then there are "Shape Options."Simply click on it, and more details will open.

First, you must select the box and then go to the shape options. Then, you will see the dialogue box as you can see.

As you can see, there is a width and height, and you can also give the same size to each shape. Having all shapes equal size makes the org chart more attractive and clean.

In this way, you can edit your org chart in Lucidchart. These are some tricks and tips related to the org chart in Lucidchart.
