Introduction to Microsoft Visio Interface!

In this article, we will talk about the interface of Visio. We know that Visio is the product of Microsoft and the interface of Visio is similar to Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. When we open Visio then we see the shape window on the left-hand side of the appear and the shapes window doesn't include in word, excel, and powerpoint.

There is six main part for the interface of the Visio. And they are all listed below.

Quick Access Tool Bar
Quick Access Tool Bar lies on the top of the menu bar and in this bar there are a few important tools that we keep in the Quick Access Tool Bar so that we can work with our drawing quickly without any hesitations.

At this time there are three important keys in the Quick Access Tool Bar.
  1. Undo
  2. Redo
  3. Save
Menu Bar
After Quick Access Tool Bar we can see the menu bar. In the menu bar, there are all menu includes as you can be listed below.
  1. File menu
  2. Home tab
  3. Insert tab
  4. Draw tab
  5. Design tab
  6. Data tab
  7. Process tab
  8. Review tab
  9. View Developer tab
  10. Help tab
When we open any tab then relative commands are shown in that tab and we can change any tab by just by clicking on it then the relative commands are open after clicking on the tab.

Ribbon Tab
When we select any tab in the menu bar then relative commands are open related to that tab. The whole area under the Menu bar is known by the name of the Ribbon tab.

On the left-hand side of the drawing artboard, we can see the shapes window and we can customize the shapes window according to our desired shapes.

At the center of the Visio we can see a page it's known as the artboard of the drawing. We use all menu and relative commands and use the shapes we work on our artboard in Visio.


Status Bar
The status bar lies at the bottom of the Visio drawing.
In the following screenshot, we can see that there is a border at the bottom and this area is named as a status bar.

When we will right-click on this area then we will see a new window will open as we can see in the following screenshot.


In the above list, we can see the following options.

  6. Language

  9. Upload Status

In the above screenshot, we can see that all factors or check except the language. If we will check the language then our status bar will appear.

In simple words, we can say that the status bar contains important commands as you can see in the list and you can easily customize them in your Visio document while you are working with it.
If some of them are not useful then you can simply uncheck them and only useful should remain there. In this way, we can customize the status bar in Visio.
