How to rename a Visio file?

In this article, you will learn how you can rename your Visio file. It's very important to rename files. sometimes we want to save our file with a specific name so that is why I will teach you for renaming your file according to your own name.

If you open a Visio drawing then the file that you are working is saved as the name of the Drawing1, Drawing2, Drawing3, and so on. These are all by default Vidio drawing names are along with the Visio drawing. 

To rename the Visio drawing file. The first step is you have to open your Visio drawing.

You can see that on the top there is a file name "Drawing2" it's Visio drawing that you are working on. In this example, we are working with the timeline.

Move-in the file menu.

We can see that on the left-hand side there is a long list.

2. New
3. Open
4. Info
5. Save
6. Save As
7. Print
8. Share
9. Export
10. Close
11. Account
12. Feedback
13. Options

As we are going to rename our file then you have to go with Save As option.

After selecting Save As option then you will see that a new window will be open on the right-hand side but on the left side will remain the same.

In the above window, we can see that it's asking the location of the file where we want to save the file.

You can select the folder or go with that in this case we are going with the Desktop.

After giving the location to our document then we will see that two things appear.

1. File Name
2. Save As Type

Also, you can see that our file name can be renamed we are going to save it with a new name "Timeline".

Now, you can see that the name is changed from Drawing2 to Timeline. Then we will press the Save button then the name of your file will be changed.

Now, you can see on the top of the picture that the file name is changed to Timeline. In this way, you can change the file name with the help of the File menu.
